Arin Dwihartanto Sunaryo

Hi, I want to explain about painting. At this writes I will introduce different tools of painting. It's resin method. Look at one of artist Indonesian. He is Arin Dwihartono Sunaryo.

He said '' I was incidentally interested in resin around 2008. I fill challenged to use resin. because it's unconventional material. when I use resin, people often ask me whether my work is considered as painting or not. however, the method I use is quite different with common painting method. when we see the work closer, we will find the depth in it. In the first glance, it probably looks like a flat landscape. but when we take a careful look, we will see its deepness.

My inspiration is the material itself. when I decide to use resin, I try to conduct a research about it. like the history of resin. and its relevant elements. As an example, resin is well-known for preserving or freezing. the microorganism which trapped in the pines tree sap. It is called as natural resin. archeologists or biologists usually could find the intact fossils or animals inside the resin. therefore, I apply this knowledge in my work. Preservation is quite dominant aspect in my works.

Before photography or video exists, prehistoric people painted their caves to freeze the momentum. That is what I have explored using resin. When I work with resin, I splash it on the glass. It will make the resin flow uncontrollably, but an one point it will be hardened. Then, the moment and the color of movement are eternalized. The use of photography here, it also part of eternalizing the momentum.

Consequently, it is about the unexpected result. Because I never know the final outcome until resin is removed from the glass table. So, it's quite a gamble. But I hope while I painting, I can get wonderful result and new view in every moment. (sumber/youtube indoart)
